For all us drooling SEGA fans, February 23rd can't come any sooner for the Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing North American release. With fans anxiously waiting to hear more about the game, SEGA invited us over to an exclusive, hands-on community event with the final version of SSASR. Frankly I was impressed to say the least, and was lucky enough to get screenshots of each of the included characters, their unique powers, and stats.
Keep in mind that this is for the Xbox 360 version, which includes the Microsoft Avatars and Banjo & Kazooie as playable characters. The Wii version gets the "Mii's" as its exclusive, which we unfortunately don't have the stats for (though we assume it's the same build as the Xbox 360 Avatar characters) and PS3's....well they get a nice pat on the back, but unfortunately the PS3 version has no special characters (sorry Sony fanboys and fangirls!) Anyway, without further ado, take a look at a few of these screens and make sure to check out the full album and interview with SSASR's producers.
In case you haven't already seen the full character roster, here's the official list:
Playable Characters:
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- Miles "Tails" Prower
- Knuckles the Echidna
- Doctor Eggman

Make sure to check out the whole album for stats and special powers for the 22 Xbox 360 characters. Special thanks to SOA for hosting this great event. We can't wait to get our hands on a copy to play online!
Make sure to read our interview with Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing producers Dan Gallardo and Omar Woodley.

Cool looking game. The Xbox 360 seems to have extra characters over the PS3 version. They could have added some exclusives characters to the PS3 version. It looks like each character comes with a certain kart, so you can't change the kart that your character uses, which is a downside.
