Fantastic new ladies and gents, CRUSH is now available on the PSN Store!!
In case you didn't know, CRUSH is probably the only reason anyone should bother to buy a PSP (actually it is the only reason I bought and still own mine!) - it was a critically rated title when it was released, but like most gaming gems of brilliance it shone too brightly for the general gaming public and they blindly passed it by.
However, it is now (according to SEGA - I don't have a PS3 so I can't check) available to download from the PSN store. So anyone who missed out on one of the best and most original puzzle titles around can now be swallowed up in it's genius.
The video above might be a bit confusing for those that haven't heard about it before, but I'll give a brief rundown on why you should buy it:
Developer: The Creative Assembly Australia. Publisher: SEGA. Platform(s): DS. Release Date(s): March 2nd 2010 (US), March 12th 2010 (Europe). Reviewer: Graham.
I got to say, this is possibly one of the hardest titles I have ever had to review. Not for any personal or political (can games be political?) reason, but rather because I have to ask myself the question; “How can you review a selection of games that have been reviewed about 100 times before?”
Sonic Classic Collection features the four (well technically three*) original Sonic the Hedgehog games that appeared on SEGA’s 16-bit Mega Drive/ Genesis console; Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles. [*Sonic 3 and S&K were originally planned to be part of the same game].
But also SEGA/ The Creative Assembly Australia (the team behind the DS collection), put in the ‘lock-on’ feature from Sonic & Knuckles into the collection, allowing for Knuckles to be playable in both Sonic 3 and also Sonic 2. That might not sound too impressive, but the feature was missing from the SEGA Mega Drive Ultimate Collection (Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection). So essentially it’s like having six Sonic games in one pack.
The thing about the early Sonic games is that they have been ported onto so many different systems now and reviewed over and over again, so is there anything new for me to say on the games themselves?
Only two days in and it's already been a great week for SEGA console mods. Just yesterday we looked at the Millennium Falcon Dreamcast mod and today here is another SEGA console mod, but one we haven't seen before - a portable Saturn. (Can I hear an "Oooh!" from the general audience?)
Yep, we've seen plenty of portable (fan made) Dreamcasts - some good, some good-ish - but all very appreciated and fun to look at. What we haven't seen before is a portable Saturn and thankfully "EVIL NOD" over at BenHeck (the same site from yesterday) has managed to make one.
SEGA America is getting ready to reveal some more information about Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1, but what they reveal will all depend on you, the fans.
Over at the official SoA Forums, Ruby Eclipse is asking which piece of information you want to hear about first, either Sonic's Homing Attack or the Music and Sound Effects:
SEGA certainly knows how to time their announcements, eh? What with Yakuza 3 finally being launched in the West and the Japanese release of Yakuza 4 just around the corner, SEGA teased another addition to the Yakuza franchise at a special press event in Japan last night.
Dubbed "Project K" it has already been confirmed that this new title will be a new Yakuza game - but so far nothing of the story or the setting of the game has been revealed, just a little tease to get us all excited.
